LAUNCHING THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW
Counselors in Training (CIT) is a program designed to help teens grow in their leadership abilities, interpersonal communication, and critical thinking skills. Our goal is that they leave our program knowing that they are global citizens with the abilities to impact their peers, community, and the world for the better.

COUNSELORS IN TRAINING (CIT)
Ages 16-17
Counselors in Training is a three week experience for those who have a sincere desire to develop their leadership abilities. CITs live side-by-side with counselors and campers in cabins developing a variety of skills and gaining new experiences. It has been a huge focus for our leadership team at Camp Y-Noah to continue to grow this program so that we not only create a highly skilled applicant pool for future camp staff, but that we are also sending CITs home who are better prepared for school, college, and the workforce.
This program offers participants the opportunity to work on counseling skills, conflict resolution, behavior management, teaching techniques, program development, and more. This program is designed to help transition CITs from being a camper to focusing on becoming mentors and role models for others. The CIT must be at least 16 years of age at program start date.
The first week of programming includes extensive training and a behind the scenes experience of camp, followed by assisting in our Day and Overnight Camp programs.
The CIT program is held over three consecutive weeks. CITs will check in on Sunday afternoons (3pm) and will check out on Saturday mornings (9:30am). They are encouraged to spend time at home on their day off.
2026 Dates: July 5 - 24
Cost for Program: $975
This year we will be integrating an interview process to our CIT program. After you register, as we get closer to the start of camp look for an email from our Program Director Leigha about setting up your interview! These interviews have no impact on your participation in the program, but are mandatory as interview experience, and so we can get a chance to know your camper, and what they hope to get out of the program!
HEAR FROM OUR CAMPERS
In this video, some of our campers explain the impact the program had on them. It also gives an excellent snapshot of what our two-week program looks like!
